Formerly the State Workforce Investment Board, the newly authorized State Workforce Development Board (WDB) is challenged with developing local sector strategies in high growth industries and designing career pathways that advance opportunities for all workers and job seekers, including low-skilled adults, youth, dislocated workers and individuals with disabilities
The VIWDB assists the Governor in developing, implementing, and modifying the State Plan.
Aligning workforce development programs in the Territory in a manner that supports a comprehensive and streamlined workforce development system.
For technological improvements to facilitate access to services and activities provided through the One Stop delivery system.
The WDB shall lead efforts of employer engagement, conduct program oversight of local adult, dislocated worker and youth workforce activities.
